A New Look for Clear Lake Country

Inspired by Riding Mountain National Park's rich heritage dating back to the 1930s, we developed a visual identity for Clear Lake Country that perfectly captured the region's spirit.

A vintage-style enamel mug rests on a sandy surface, adorned with a unique design featuring a bison silhouette, reflecting in water, against a backdrop of a sun and sky, portrayed in a minimalistic style with soothing blue and orange colors. In 2023, UpHouse, one of our strategic partners, asked us to refine a project they had been developing for Clear Lake Country.

Our goal: create a visual identity that captures the spirit of the region, inspired by the rich heritage and visual history of Riding Mountain National Park from the 1930s.

Drawing Inspiration From the Past

Our design process began by diving into the park's history. We studied vintage brochures, maps, and newspaper articles from the park's early days.

These historical elements became the foundation of our creative strategy, influencing everything from logo design to typography and colour schemes.

Crafting the Visual Identity

We created moodboards to set the tone and guide our visual narrative. These boards helped us develop a brand identity that felt both authentic and engaging.

We blended historical charm with a modern twist, presenting Clear Lake Country with logo variations, a fresh colour palette, and a versatile typography system suitable for digital platforms and physical signage.

Bringing the Vision to Life

The final brand identity celebrated the natural beauty and historical significance of Clear Lake Country.

The tagline "Let the Wild In," crafted by UpHouse Inc., summed up the brand perfectly, inviting visitors to explore and connect with nature.

Positive Outcomes

The new brand identity is strong and inspiring, highlighting the area's natural beauty and rich history.

The new branding was rolled out across various platforms, receiving positive feedback from stakeholders and visitors and reinvigorating tourism interest in the region.
